The possibly unwelcome evolution of the snow-bike

Over the years, lots of people have tried to make bike riding in snow something more than a dangerous and difficult exercise for the diehard obsessive. There have been ski-bikes and snowmobile-style track extensions for your rear wheel. You could even count the Pugsley as a thoughtful — and distinctly fun — solution to riding a bike in conditions that God intended for skis and sleds.

Now the latest thing appears to be the snow trike:


This thing has been around for a couple of years, and was featured in an Adidas Slopestyle event back when. But will it ever really catch on?

It sure looks like the Big Air BMXers are digging this in Norway, but I can’t imagine a lot of ski areas are going to allow these things in the lift lines.
