Liv Cycling announces new Intrigue series

Woman-specific designs have long had a bad rap as being shrinked-and-pinked or more commonly, shrinked-and-stinked—charging the same amount of money for a bike with lesser quality components. Many women had different body geometries than most men, with a lower center of gravity, narrower shoulders, and a different transference of power based on our builds. Buying a woman-specific bike ten years ago meant buying a bike that would still not feel quite right and would typically be covered in some sort of paisley design. No thank you.

Thankfully, a lot has changed in those ten years.

There are companies out there making real efforts to make bikes that fit women’s bodies well and are genuinely intuitive and fun to ride, including Liv, Giant’s brand of women-specific bikes, which aims to empower riders from beginners to pros, with bikes for whatever nasty terrain you’re looking to tear up.

The new Liv Intrigue Advanced 0 is spec’d with the DVO custom-tuned Topaz 2 T3 shock and the DVO custom-tuned Diamond fork, complete with the SRAM X01 Eagle drivetrain. The cockpit now features a 35mm TruVativ handlebar and stem for added lightweight front end stiffness. The 27.5 Giant TRX 0 boost wheel systems come with tubeless Maxxis High Roller II tires, including a 2.4-inch tire in the front and 2.5-inch tire in the rear. The Intrigue Advanced is compatible up to 2.6-inch tires and 180mm rotors so you have plenty of grip and zero slip.

These bikes not only sound like they ride great, they also look pretty cool with a matte black finish and tastefully minimal logo graphics that add a slight pop of color if the bike slows down enough to catch it. And wait, is that a bit of Lisa Frank-inspired tiger stripe I see?

The Intrigue Advanced will be available worldwide later this summer. Find your local Liv retailer online here.
